Forensic Identification Section

Sgt. Kevin Keech, a Forensic Identification Specialist since 1996 oversees this section consisting of one other fully trained specialists and seven Scenes Of Crime Officers (SOCO’s). These officers are the real life “CSI’s” for the police service. They are responsible for the detection, collection and preservation of forensic evidence at crime scenes and photography at both crime scenes and serious motor vehicle collisions. Training for the specialists is extensive and on-going. The SOCO’s must successfully complete a very thorough in-house course instructed by the specialists.
