Traffic Section
Cst. Mike Kuster is currently assigned to this very demanding part of the service. While the public sees the enforcement end of his duties there is much more to his position. In fact, the enforcement is based on the analysis of traffic patterns in the city. It includes studying the locations and frequency of motor vehicle collisions, signage, education and maintaining a close relationship with the city engineering department. He is responsible for traffic education in our schools and community at large. Being the traffic officer also requires a keen interest and development in the area of motor vehicle collisions. Training in this area is extensive and demanding. Cst. Kuster maintains partnerships with Alberta Transportation taking part in commercial vehicle inspections and with the R.C.M.P. to conduct joint agency initiatives. His important role with the Camrose Police Service helps to ensure safe travel in our community.

PHOTO RADAR
The Camrose Police Service uses Photo Radar as a means of speed enforcement in the city. Locations and times of where it is stationed is based on our annual traffic analysis. Each year, as part of the analysis, statistics are analyzed to determine not only where collisions have occurred, but also the areas where speeding occurs most often. Some of the links below refer to speed and its relationship with collisions and injury. Photo Radar as a means of enforcement is one tool we use to make our streets safer.
